What we do.
We believe mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness.
That’s why our programmes are built like a rugby performance pathway, designed to support the whole sporting community from grassroots to high-performance.
Our programmes help young people and the adults around them understand their mental health, build confidence and know where to turn for support. Through simple, interactive and practical workshops, we help people understand how mental health works, spot when they or someone they care about might be struggling and feel confident asking for help.
We show that mental health is something everyone has, just like physical health. It isn’t “good” or “bad” - it changes over time, like a journey with ups and downs. By understanding this, young people can better cope with difficult moments, manage challenges and get support early when they need it. As a result, they feel more in control, supported, and less at risk of reaching a crisis - helping them stay well now and
in the future.
We deliver all our programmes in sports settings because they work best there.
When sports are run in welcoming and inclusive spaces, young people feel comfortable and “at home.” This makes it much easier for them to engage with learning about mental health, talk about how they’re feeling, and understand when and how to get support.
Many young people find formal settings like clinics or hospitals intimidating or not for them. By bringing our programmes into familiar, relaxed, and friendly environments, we make sure everyone feels safe, included, and ready to take part.
Our programmes are:
Sport-Led, Community-Based: We meet young people where they are - on the pitch, in clubs, and within their communities—embedding mental health support into familiar and trusted environments
Co-Designed and Evidence-Driven: Our programmes are shaped with young people and developed in partnership with Sports & Clinical Psychologists to ensure they’re relevant, impactful, and inclusive.
Brave Mind programmes empower communities to understand, talk about, and take charge of their mental health.
