The ISSY STAR CHARITY EARRINGS

The Issy Star earrings were created by Sophie McGown, founder of the ISSY STAR, in loving memory of her cousin Issy Phipps, whose kindness, warmth and light continue to inspire others.

wHO WAS ISSY?

Issy's greatest love was rugby. She played for Maidenhead Rugby Club from a young age and absolutely lived and breathed the sport. Rugby wasn't just something she played, it was her community, her happy place and somewhere she poured her heart into helping others.

She proudly represented England Under-18 Touch Rugby, winning a gold medal for the England European Championship and making lifelong friendships along the way. She later coached younger players, always encouraging them with the same kindness and enthusiasm that she showed everyone else.
Her friends weren't just her friends, they were her family, Issy loved deeply, she gave everything to the people around her.

The Princess of Wales visited Maidenhead Rugby club and was gifted a pair of these earrings by Issy’s mum Sarah, a much valued player and coach of the club. This led to national recognition when in 2023 the Princess of Wales wore the Issy Star earrings on World Mental Health Day, and since, thousands of people all over the world have since chosen to wear them as a reminder that every conversation about mental health matters.

For every pair sold, £5 is donated directly to Brave Mind us, helping to fund life-changing mental health initiatives and support those who need it most.

Whether you are buying them in memory of someone special, to start meaningful conversations, or simply to show your support for better mental health, your purchase becomes part of something much bigger.

Together, we can honour Issy's legacy and help create a future where fewer lives are lost to suicide.

Wear a star. Share hope. Make a difference.

A life doesn't stop making a difference just because it ends.

More than a piece of jewellery, the earrings are a symbol of hope, connection and the importance of looking after our mental health. Every pair worn helps keep Issy's legacy alive while supporting our mission to improve mental health and prevent suicide through education, innovation and community.

Issy may no longer be with us, but her story continues to change lives every single day. Every pair of earrings, every conversation started by someone asking, "What does the star mean?"

They all keep her light shining.

Through the ISSY STAR, thousands of pounds have already been raised for mental health, helping to support people who may be fighting battles nobody else can see.

What began as a way to remember one extraordinary girl has become something so much bigger, a movement of kindness, hope and courage.

If one conversation helps someone ask for help…
If one piece of jewellery reminds someone they are loved…
If one person chooses to stay because they realise they're not alone…

Then Issy is still changing lives.

Her story didn't end.
